Zipp’s Aerodynamic Boundary Layer Control (ABLC) dimples can extend all the way to the outer edge of the rim since there is no requirement for a braking surface. This provides even better aerodynamic performance; especially in a crosswind. Wider tyres are accommodated for by the 21mm internal rim width; further improving comfort and aerodynamic performance. Clincher tyres with tubes can be easily fitted; but a key feature of this wheel is that it was designed as a tubeless option from scratch; and is optimised for tubeless clincher tyres. The Firecrest 303’s lightweight rim design excels at accelerating and climbing while the 177D hub is highly durable; with fewer requirements for maintenance. This highly compatible rear wheel comes supplied with both a quick release and 15mm thru-axle end caps.
