The PowerTrac Elliptical (PTE) design aims to provide better power and traction throughout the pedal stroke by effectively varying the chainring size; with a smaller ring at the point of the stroke that power is reduced; and a larger diameter ring when power is at its peak. This results in a more even spread of power and torque that improves traction and sustains momentum as well as putting less strain on the legs.
