The key to their performance is the Aeroweave upper. Lightweight nylon fibres are woven with filaments of thermoplastic polymer; creating a highly resistant and supportive mesh structure. This gives you incredible ventilation in warm weather while creating a supportive cradle for your foot – just what you need for a high-performance road racing shoe. Powerstrap closure The upper also features Fizik’s innovative Powerstrap closure. This isn’t just your standard two-strap system that pulls the sides of the shoe together. No; instead each strap creates a smooth ribbon wrapping your foot; creating a superbly secure and comfortable fit. Not only that; but the system is incredibly lightweight and streamlined; optimising performance on the bike. R2 Carbon Outsole The stiffest of Fizik’s outsoles; rated 10 out of 10 on their stiffness index; the R2 is a full carbon unit made for uncompromising power transfer. Not only stiff; but it’s also incredibly lightweight; keeping overall shoe weight to the bare minimum. Cleat positioning is moved slightly further rearwards; optimising pedalling efficiency and reducing knee compression. It’s especially well suited to very aggressive; forward aero riding positions.
