The evolution of digital 3D printing allows for the development of a new saddle free from traditional production constraints. The Adaptive saddle padding is crafted by Carbon® using their revolutionary Digital Light Synthesis™ technology. DLS is an additive manufacturing process utilizing digital ultraviolet light projection; oxygen-permeable optics; and programmable liquid resins to produce parts with excellent mechanical properties; resolution; and surface finish. Using Carbon® technology; biomechanics; and engineers have the unprecedented ability to design and manufacture multiple functional zones within the saddle; tuning each separately for specific mechanical properties. Each key functional zone is engineered for distinctive cushioning and mechanical response; seamlessly joined together in the same padding. The result is a 60% reduction in peak pressure through improved weight distribution; increasing comfort across the entire saddle surface. The 00 is the lightest option in Fizik’s Argo range; combining a lower profile 3D-printed padding with an incredibly stiff high-modulus; full-carbon shell and rails.
